Setting up Roku Channels is easy!
Using your Sermon.net account you can create a Roku Direct Publisher Feed that you submit to a Roku Developer Account. Once submitted and Approved by Roku your channel will be available in the Roku Channel Search.
Overview
Step 1: Click Here to Create a free Roku account
Step 2: Click Here to enroll in the Roku Developer Program.
Step 3: Set up your Sermon.net account with episodes, playlists and / or Media Center with multiple playlists.
Step 4: Set up your Sermon.net Roku Direct Publisher Feed Url.
Step 5: Create your Roku Channel in the Roku Developer console setting up your Channel Information, images and Direct Publisher Url as the Feed.
Step 6: Submit the Channel for Review with Roku. Once approved your Channel will be live in the Roku Channel Store. Happy Streaming!
How to Submit Your Channel
Before you begin to set up your Channel in your Roku Developer account collect the necessary text, images and Direct Publisher Feed Url. You will need these items to submit your channel.
- Channel Logo - 400 x 90 JPEG or PNG file.
- Splash Screen Image - 400 x 90 JPEG or PNG file.
- Small Logo for Roku Search Image - 165 x 60 JPEG or PNG file.
- Optional: Background Image - 1920 x 1080 JPEG or PNG file with not text in it.
- Channel Poster Image - Upload a 540x405 JPEG or PNG image.
- Channel Description Text - 300 Chars Max.
- Channel Web Description (must be different from Channel Description) - 1500 Chars Max
- Url to your hosted terms of service page. - 1500 Chars Max
Submitting Your Channel
Log into your developer dashboard and click Create New Channel. Roku will walk you through the steps and if you have all of the information above ready this process should only take a few minutes. Note: Check the feed status page to be sure all of your videos ingested correctly. Fix any issues you encounter in your Sermon.net account.
- Note: Be sure to create a Direct Publisher Channel.
- Note: Video Formats will be included in your feed.
- If you ever encounter an issue with your Roku Channel not updating log into your Roku Developer account and check the feed status page for errors. If errors exist they need to be fixed before Roku will ingest your updated feed.
